High vibration levels can cause superfluous wear and instantaneous damage to civil constructions such as bridge, tunnels, building foundations etc. The dynamic behaviour of for example a bridge is an important parameter to monitor in order to evaluate maintenance necessity, usable lifetime, allowable loading, seismic requalification, etc.
